OBJECTIVES
ONHYM and its partners continuously contribute to the economic and social development of communities near prospecting, research and mining/oil exploration regions, investing heavily in building and maintaining genuine partnerships with their stakeholders. Many community and solidarity actions have been carried out for populations living near exploration sites.
- Encourage local employment, local procurement and training of employees in the regions and project sites;
- Contribute to the socio-economic development of the regions where we operate;
- Foster partnerships with public authorities and NGOs to set up high-social-value programmes;
- Develop responsible procurement by integrating environmental and social criteria into tenders and ensuring suppliers implement ONHYM's CSR requirements;
- Contribute to territorial development and local employment by opening tenders to innovative SMEs and local firms;
- Comply with regulations on supplier payment deadlines.

Societal actions in Tendrara
- Training and employment opportunities for local communities;
- A partnership agreement with Mohammed I University in Oujda to develop local skills in the oil & gas sector;
- Drilling of a water well at Hassi Lahcen;
- Construction and improvement of access roads near exploration sites;
- Construction and commissioning of a telecommunications tower in the Tendrara area.
Societal actions in the Gharb region
- Improvement of local access roads;
- Donations supporting associations for the development of the rural commune of Sefsaf;
- Provision of school supplies for several establishments;
- Financing of local community projects;
- Direct and indirect job creation for the local community.
Shared value in Ouarzazate, Agadir, Bouarfa & Zelmou
In the mining sector, ONHYM’s subsidiaries and affiliated companies have led several societal actions, notably:
- Aid to various associations (Tazoult, Ebnime, Tazoukt, Tasakoute, Jeunesse Timkit) for tracks development, substantial food aid and wood-heater distribution for needy populations;
- A partnership with the Tinissou association for Rural Development and the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) to build the very first women’s centre in Douar Ait Abdelah;
- A medical caravan organised with the Taghragra association;
- Renovation of schools and distribution of supplies, equipment and IT material;
- Purchase and provision of school-transport vehicles for communes;
- Launch of an experimental community saffron farm serving as a training centre for farmers in the Agadir region.
